Thomastik-Infeld Superflexible violin strings are an advance over conventional solid strings, lying midway in the path of evolution from the solid core to the advanced spiral core type. The solid core has been replaced by a cable-type structure made up of braided steel threads. This reduces the string's stiffness, improving its elasticity. A Superflexible string is incomparably responsive and its tone seems to literally radiate from the instrument, without the least harshness. Durability, tuning stability, and purity of open fifths are unsurpassed. Superflexible is a dependable all-round string for the discerning musician, at home with every type of bowing and in every musical situation.

Thomastik Infeld Red Series 4/4 Size Violin Strings (4/4 Size Set)

Thomastik Infeld Red Series 4/4 Size Violin Strings (4/4 Size Set) Reviews

Other Picture

Thomastik Infeld Red Series 4/4 Size Violin Strings (4/4 Size Set) Feature

• Suitable for old and new instruments.
• Relatively insensitive to excess humidity.
• Low overall tension on the instrument produces an open, transparent sound.
• Large and full sound, making the string sets suitable for soloists and chamber music players.
• The set emphasises the innate tonal characteristics of each violin, making instrument adjustment easier.

There are two kinds of E strings. The gold-plated E strings are manufactured using a special process, which considerably improves their performance and sound in relation to conventional gold-plating methods. The 'silver' E strings are galvanised, which allows their sound characteristcs to come to the fore unimpaired. The rest of the strings have a composite core, which fulfills all the functional characteristcs expected of a great string. The first winding of the string consists of a alloy which actually occurs in Nature, which is why it is designated as 'Natural Alloy'. Already centuries ago this type of alloy was regarded as having special properties. The G string is wound in pure silver, assuring optimum density. The A and D strings are wound with an alloy called hydronalium, which makes for good bow contact and excellent balance between bowing noise and resultant string sound.

Thomastik Infeld Blue 4/4 Violin D String - Hydroalium/Synthetic - Medium Gauge

Thomastik Infeld Blue 4/4 Violin D String - Hydroalium/Synthetic - Medium Gauge Reviews

Thomastik Infeld Blue 4/4 Violin D String - Hydroalium/Synthetic - Medium Gauge Feature

• D String
• 4/4 Violin
• Medium Gauge
• Hydroalium Winding/Synthetic Core
• Ball End

From the creators of Dominant strings comes a breakthrough. Thomastik Infeld strings are relatively insensitive to humidity changes, break in quickly, and have relatively low tension. A new, synthetic composite core gives these strings a full sound and a longer life span than other synthetic strings, and are reponsive to different playing techniques. The "Infeld Blue" set enhances the "brighter overtones" on most violins and represents half of the Thomastik-Infeld violin string system (see also Infeld Red). All 8 strings of this "system" are matched and balanced for playability and tension load so that they may be interchanged to achieve the optimal tonal balance for a given violin, thus minimizing impact to both the player and the instrument. The "Blue" set has an "E" that is a tin plated carbon steel, an "A" & "D" that are hydronalium wound over a composite core, and a "G" that is a silver wound over the composite core.
